Relevant Instrumentation:

  • Dry box and Schlenk lines for work in a waterless inert atmosphere.
  • Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) on a Bruker Tensor T27 instrument is used to determine the presence and identification of organic groups.
  • Mass spectrometry combined with gas chromatography (GC-MS) on a TSQ Quantum XLS instrument and a Trace GC Ultra chromatograph (Thermo Scientific) is used to identify organic products.
  • Thermogravimetry (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) are performed on a Netzsch STA 449C Jupiter instrument. On-line connection with the Bruker Tensor T27 IR spectrometer enables the identification of outgoing gases.
  • Quantachrome Autosorb-1MP and Quantachrome iQ-MP porosimeters is used for determination of sample porosity (N2, Ar adsorption), or to determine other surface properties (e.g. hydrophilicity and basicity, H2O and CO2 adsorption).
  • Thanks to the cooperation with the CEITEC MU research center, within the CIISB project the research group has access to MAS NMR (13C, 27Al, 29Si and 31P on a Bruker Avance III 500 MHz and Bruker Avance III HD 700 MHz spectrometer, both with 4 mm broadband CP/MAS probes) , STEM-EDS (FEI Tecnai F20 200 kV with 4k CCD camera and FEI Titan Krios 300 kV), SAXS (Rigaku BioSAXS-1000), etc.
